Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we get most often from clients, procurement teams and new enquiries. Can't find what you need? Call us or send us an email.

General
We're based in Ashford, Kent, and our directly employed crews work across the South East, Greater London and East Anglia. For emergency callouts and major projects we mobilise nationally. If you're unsure whether we cover your location, just call us or drop us an email.
Both. We work as a specialist subcontractor to main contractors and framework operators, and we also take on projects as principal contractor where we manage the full programme end-to-end. We're comfortable in both roles.
For emergency callouts, we target mobilisation within hours — our operations team is reachable 24/7. For planned works, lead time depends on programme size, permits and TM, but we typically mobilise smaller packages within a few days of instruction.
We are open to framework opportunities and happy to discuss registration. Contact us at ryan@clearway.ltd for more information.
Services
Yes. Our Chapter 8 TM team operates independently of our civils and fibre crews. We can provide TM-only for your works if needed, whether that's a simple single-lane closure or a complex multi-lane scheme.
Yes — that's one of our key differentiators. Rather than splitting the project across multiple contractors, Clearway can deliver the complete lifecycle: survey and design, civils and duct, cable installation, splicing and OTDR testing. One contract, one point of contact.
Yes. Our emergency response line is answered directly by our operations team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We're not a call centre — you speak to someone who can make decisions and dispatch a crew. Call 01233 527390.
We've handled installations up to 576-fibre on long-haul routes, with single-blow sections of 5,200m. We work with single-mode and multi-core armoured and unarmoured cables. We're comfortable with Openreach, BDUK and operator-specific standards.
Compliance & Accreditations
Yes. All street works operatives hold valid NRSWA cards, and our supervisors hold the NRSWA Supervisor qualification. We manage our own permit applications and work in full compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
We hold SafeContractor approval (independently audited), CHAS accreditation and Constructionline membership. We also carry ISO 9001 certification for our quality management system. You can view our full compliance profile on the Compliance page.
Yes. We can provide public liability, employer's liability and contract works certificates on request. Contact compliance@clearway.ltd.
Yes. Our environmental policy covers waste management, carbon reduction (including our EV fleet programme) and responsible site practice. A copy is available on our Environmental Policy page or on request.
Working With Us
The fastest way is to call us on 01233 527390 or fill in the quote form on our Contact page. We typically respond within 2 hours during business hours. For urgent requirements, always call.
A brief scope of works, location, volumes (route length, duct sizes, cable spec etc.) and your preferred timescale. The more detail you can share upfront, the more accurate our pricing will be — but we're happy to have a preliminary conversation first.
Both. We work directly with ISPs, network operators and local authorities, and we also operate as a specialist subcontractor within larger delivery frameworks. We're flexible on commercial structure.
We stand behind our reinstatement and installation work. Highway reinstatement is carried out to Sector Scheme 2B standards and we cover defect liability periods as required. Network issues that arise within the warranty period are addressed promptly at no additional cost.
